Annamae "Ann" (Rackley) Lunsford

Annamae "Ann" Lunsford, nee Rackley, was born on Monday, March 19, 1928 in Enid, OK to Daniel Thomas Rackley and Fronia Agnes Rackley, nee Hand.  She passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO at the age of 96 years and 1 month.

Ann married Ray Walter Lunsford on April 23, 1944 in Boss, MO and to this union three children were born.  They moved to Steelville in 1955, when Ray was hired as the City Administrator.  Ann had worked at International Shoe in Salem, MO, McGraw Edison in Clarence, MO and most importantly was a housewife that stayed home to raise her children.  When her children were older, she worked at the Steelville Supply Store and as a cook at the Steelville Pool Hall in the 70’s.  Ann loved camping, fishing and was an avid reader.  She was a great cook and baker, her family said she was known for her apple pies and always made 3 meals a day for her husband, Ray.  Ann especially was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.  Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.  Ann was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Lunsford; parents Daniel and Fronia Rackley; parents-in-law William and Rose Lunsford; siblings Lorene (Bud) Morgan, Pearl (Thomas) Sisco and Daniel (Viola) Rackley; brothers-in-law Rev. Donald (Alline) Lunsford, Rainey (Jane) Lunsford and Raymond Lunsford; sister-in-law Sylvia Lunsford; nephew Mike Lunsford and great nephew Dale Lunsford, Jr.

Ann is survived by her children Judy (Bob) Curtis and Terry Lunsford both of Steelville, MO and Gary (Lillian) Lunsford of Eureka, MO; brother-in-law Norman Lunsford of Steelville, MO; grandchildren Stephanie (Shawn) Curtis of Rochelle, IL, Andrea Bridgeman of Sullivan, MO, Lindsay (Justin) Mosher of Mesquite, NV and Shane (Brandi) Lunsford of St. Charles, MO; 9 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial was at Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, MO.
