Barbara Lee (Clonts) Ray

Barbara Lee Ray nee Clonts of Leasburg, MO was born on Saturday, February 14, 1931 in Berryman, MO to Bert Leeverty Clonts and Hattie Alice (Wisdom) Clonts.  She passed away in Steelville, MO on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 13 days.

Barbara accepted the Lord early in life and attended the Assembly of God Church in Leasburg, MO.  She married Clark Edwin Ray on May 21, 1950 in Berryman, MO and to this union five sons were born.  Barbara was a housewife but had also worked 12 years in home care and 8 years with Proctor.  She liked tending to her small garden and canning.  She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and quilting.  Most of all, she loved God and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Hattie Clonts; husband Clark Edwin Ray; sons Dennis Wayne Ray, Wendell Gene Ray and Mark Allen Ray; siblings Raymond (Celia) Clonts, Bill (Darlene) Clonts, Esther Clonts and Mabel (Dr. Roy) Royce; brothers-in-law Kenneth (Alice) Ray, Alvin (Marlene) Ray, Lawrence Ray, Bill Green, Joe Berryman, Fred Hopwood; sisters-in-law Ethel (Jesse) Harmon, Ruby (Fred) McCance and Betty Cox.

She is survived by her sons James (Paula) Ray and Randy (Joann) Ray both of Leasburg, MO; brother Ralph "Junior" Clonts of Licking, MO; sisters-in-law Dorothy Hopwood of Bourbon, MO, Florence Ray of Springfield, MO and Ruth Ann Ray of Denver, CO; grandchildren Corey (Kim) Ray of St. James, MO, Casey Ray (fiancé Bill) of St. Louis, MO, Dennis  Ray (girlfriend Ciera McCoy) of Springfield, MO and Melinda Brown (fiancé Brian Phipps)  of Leasburg, MO; great grandchildren Kyra and Corryn Ray, Ian Ray and Naya Brown; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service was at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO, with Bro. Perry Lewis officiating.  Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, Butts, MO.  Memorials were suggested to Fairvew Cemetery (Mail to Sandy Wilson 507 Timothy Ln, Cuba, MO 65453).
