Marilyn A. (Moser) Korte

Marilyn Agnes Korte nee Moser of Steelville, MO was born in St. Louis, MO on Sunday, January 31, 1932 to William A. Moser and Casilda Marie (Kaiman) Moser.  She passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Steelville Senior Living in Steelville, MO at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 29 days.

Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of Laboure All Girls Catholic High School in St. Louis, MO. She married her loving husband of 65 years, Richard Carl Korte on May 30, 1953 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in St. Louis, MO and to this union 8 children were born. She was an avid sports fanatic and a long time St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan.  She was the former owner of Marilyn's Quality Egg Business and former owner/operator of Stonegate Farms.  She was a long time member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Steelville, MO.  She was devoted to St. Therese of Lisieux, "the little flower", and to Holy Mother Mary and St. Anthony.  She was a Vitae Society member and gave thirteen years as an Extern Sacristan to the Carmelite Sisters Monastery in Jefferson City, MO.  She enjoyed gardening and canning.  Most of all, Marilyn loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Casilda Moser; parents-in-law Carl and Angela (Keeven) Korte; husband Richard C. Korte; son Ralph Korte; brothers Albert (Joan) Moser and William Moser and brothers-in-law Ken Dames, Herbert Korte and John Banta.

She is survived by her children Stephen Korte of Chandler, AZ, Michael (Rose) Korte of St. Joseph, MO, Father William Korte of Louisiana, MO, Virginia (John) Watson of Steelville, MO, Catherine (Mark) Buncher of Nicholasville, KY, Walter (Stacie) Korte of Steelville, MO and Casilda (Joseph) Kekeisen of Sullivan, MO; 21 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; siblings Robert (Jane) Moser of NJ, Betty Dames and Carol McNulty both of St. Louis, MO; sisters-in-law Carol Breenan of Kirkwood, MO and Judy Banta of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law Tom Banta of AZ; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 5PM - 7PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 with Rosary at 7 PM at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Mass was at 11AM on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Steelville, MO with Father William Korte officiating.  Burial was at St. Michael Cemetery, Steelville, MO.  Memorials may be given to the Lifeline Pregnancy Center, 201 Lucia Ave, Cuba, MO 65453.
