Wade Asher

Robert “Wade” Asher of Cherryville, MO was born on Thursday, September 13, 1962 in St. Louis, MO to Robert “Bob” Lee Asher and Wanda Faye Dunlap Asher.  He passed away at his home on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 3 days.

Wade accepted the Lord when he was 16 years old.  He graduated from North County Technical School for small engine repair in St. Louis, MO in 1980 and graduated with a Pastoral Degree from Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK in 1982.  He married Marsha Deanne Delcour on May 5, 1990 at the Assembly of God Church in Steelville, MO and to this union two children were born.

Wade was a passionate, brilliant, strong, and hard working man who had experience with many jobs including being a prison guard, salesman, and delivery driver. He was an ordained minister and performed the wedding ceremony for his sister Yvonne and her husband Rick. Wade was much more than his job, he was a people person who never met a stranger. Wade spent the last several years of his life with his fiancée and love of his life, Tamara “Tami” Sue Strutman. Together they attended Faith Church in St. Louis, MO. Wade loved anything that had to do with water: kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, or even just wading. He loved driving fast cars around curves, riding four-wheelers, and dirt bikes. Wade was a conversationalist who was always telling stories, jokes and making people (and himself) laugh. His family and loved ones were most important to him and he spent his last eight years caring for his parents. He traveled to many beautiful places with his fiancée Tami. Most of all, he was crazy about his kids and loved spending time with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Bill and Hazel Asher and Herman and Frona Dunlap; mother Wanda Asher; sister Pamela Sue Asher and brother-in-law Jeff Mitchell.
He is survived by his father Robert "Bob" Asher of Cherryville, MO; children Gabrielle (Anthony Rogers) Asher of St. Louis, MO and Taylor (Brenda) Asher of Jefferson City, MO; stepson Justin (Barb) Wright of Steelville, MO; grandchildren Jack and Grayson Wright of Steelville, MO and on the way Baby Avery Asher; fiancée Tami Strutman of St. Peters, MO; Tami’s children Max Strutman and Madison Strutman; sisters Tammy (Jim) Smith of Hillsboro, MO and Yvonne (Rick) Leuthauser of St. James, MO; Tami’s siblings Leann (Paul) Walters of Ft. Wayne, IN and Terry (Shari) Stewart of Lehigh Acres, FL; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Celebration of Life immediately followed with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. The family chose cremation as his final disposition. Memorials were suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses.
