Willard "Bill" Leland Meade

Willard “Bill” Leland Meade of Cuba, MO was born on Sunday, October 4, 1936 to Earl Leland Meade and Dollie Irene McGee Meade.  He passed away in Cuba, MO on Monday, December 9, 2019 at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 5 days.

Bill married Dorothy Augusta Summers on June 8, 1956 in St. Louis, MO and to this union five children were born.  Bill worked as a forklift operator for many years and retired from Butler paper supply in St. Louis, MO. He was a faithful member at Faith Chapel, Cuba, MO serving as deacon, usher, offering counter and always helping with upkeep of the church.  He received his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying airplanes several years ago. He also, enjoyed building stereo systems. Bill was a quirky guy and always a lot of fun. He loved his desserts. He will be missed greatly by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Dollie McGee Meade; wife Dorothy Meade; son Daniel Meade; sisters  Ethel (Willy) Belmar and Doris Meade; and sister-in-law Caren Meade.

He is survived by his children William (Deborah) Meade of St. Charles, MO, Deborah Dickens of Broken Arrow, OK, Shari Clary of Cuba, MO, and Laurel (Johnnie) Ransom of Steelville, MO; brother Orvil (Fern) Meade; sister Alice (Bob) Mendoza and brother Frank (Beverly) Meade, all of Cuba, MO; brother-in-law Kenneth Nester of St. Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 5:00-7:00PM on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service at 10:00AM on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO with Pastor Darla & Larry Buettner, Jr.   Burial at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, MO.  Memorials were suggested to Alzheimers Association and/or American Cancer Society.
