Adam Lee Crocker of Cuba, MO was born on Sunday, March 19, 1989 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO to R.W. Lyle Crocker and Gay Lynn (Haynes) Crocker. He passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO after a tragic vehicle accident at the age of 31 years, 8 months and 22 days.
Adam grew up in St. Louis, MO until he moved to Mesa, AZ in 2001 where he attended Boulder High School. While in Arizona, he loved to hike, explore and photograph the scenery, especially the Superstition Mountains. After moving to Cuba, he worked for his cousin at Rich’s Burgers in Steelville, with Bob Bell and most recently at Swinger Sanitation in Cuba, MO. On August 2, 2019, Adam’s life was forever changed when he and Nikole Brooks welcomed their baby girl, Charli Jae Crocker into the world. It was evident that his purpose in life was to be her daddy, based on the care and attention he gave her. Adam was obsessive compulsive and a clean freak; his room was kept in perfect condition, he washed his car daily (sometimes twice) and kept his daughter looking spotless, even while eating. Adam enjoyed motorcycles, riding dirt bikes and joked that a dirt bike would be his daughter’s first car. He loved driving the backroads of Missouri, traveling to Arizona, Illinois and Oklahoma all to find places to take pictures. He had photographed every covered bridge in Missouri. He enjoyed going to Bennett Springs State Park and looked forward to taking Charli there and to Superstition Mountain when she got older. Adam was silly, had a captivating personality and could light up any room he walked into. In the mornings when he showed up to work at Swinger Sanitation in his floppy hat and sunglasses, he loved to get his work crew going and had a great work ethic. He became very close with his co-worker and buddy, John Dane. Adam was most influenced in life by his good friends Dylan Holub, Michael Fletcher and his Aunt Peggy. Most of all, Adam was a great son, brother, nephew and friend. He was the absolute best daddy to Charli who was his whole world. He will be sadly missed but always remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Virginia Crocker and Ronald and Doris Haynes and aunt Barb Haynes.
He is survived by his daughter Charli Jae Crocker (mother Nikole Brooks) of Steelville, MO; parents Gay (Richard) Kramer of Springfield, MO and R.W. Crocker of Cuba, MO; siblings Kelly (Matt) Wilding of St. Louis, MO, Joshua (Michelle) Crocker of Springfield, MO and Jacob (Kristin) Crocker of Maricopa, AZ; step-siblings Stephen Kramer of Altoona, FL and Amanda Kramer of Mt. Dora, FL; special aunt Peggy Cusick (and Adam's buddy Bob) of Cuba, MO; special friends Dylan Holub and Michael Fletcher both of Mesa, AZ and John Dane of Steelville, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. The family asked people dressed comfortably in blue jeans, because that is what Adam would have wanted. Memorial contributions were to be made to his daughter, Charli's, trust fund.
