Alberta "Sue" Cox, of Bourbon, MO, was born on Sunday, September 30, 1956 in Steelville, MO to Albert Cox and Bonnie Cox, nee Callahan. She passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 23 days.
Sue grew up in Cherryville, MO, was the oldest of 11 children and attended Steelville High School. She loved to travel and see new places. She especially enjoyed to fly, flying often to New York, Las Vegas and Texas. Her favorite animal was an owl and she liked to collect owl figurines. Her hobbies included canning jelly, crocheting and doing needlepoint. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudoku and word searches. Sue liked to hunt, was a certified scuba diver and loved scuba diving while in Texas and Florida. Most of all, Sue loved her family and spending time with them, especially her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Bonnie Cox; sister Glenda Bridges; brother-in-law Greg Richardson and daughter Melissa Sue White.
Sue is survived by her sons Lawrence (Misty) White and Michael Shane Summers both of Bourbon, MO; siblings Dennis (Pam) Cox and Cindy Radford both of Steelville, MO, Curtis (Shelly) England and Gayla (Joe) Eaton both of Cuba, MO, Mike McKellips of Cuba, MO, Connie Richardson of Sullivan, MO, Michelle "Mick" (Alan) White of IL, Gwendolyn England of Salem, MO and Ginger England of Cook Station, MO; grandchildren Anthony Hancock of Kansas City, MO, April Fetterhof of Springfield, MO, Lawrence "L.J." (Katlyn) White, Jr. of Sullivan, MO, Shawntae Norris (fiance Wayland Foley) of Rolla, MO and Justin Norris of Salem, MO; great grandchildren Kaden White of St. Roberts, MO, Wyatt White of Springfield, MO, Baylon White and Kallie White both of Sullivan, MO and Sehna Foley of Rolla, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition and will have a memorial service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Country Church (48 Hollingshead Rd, Leasburg, MO 65535). Memorials may be given to the funeral home to help the family with final expenses.
