Ameuel Young of Steelville, MO was born on Monday, August 16, 1926 in Rives, MO to George Washington Young and Gracie Maude Young. He passed away at his home on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the age of 93 years and 7 months.
Ameuel grew up near Hornersville, MO and attended Cotton Plant School. He joined the United States Navy where he served honorably and was a World War II Veteran. Ameuel was united in marriage to Nola Inez Hart on November 28, 1949 in Piggott, AR and to this union a son, Len, was born. Ameuel worked at Ford Motor Co. He was a member of United Auto Works Local #325 and Potosi Southern Baptist Church. Ameuel loved to go to Flea Markets, work on the farm and on classic cars. Most of all, he loved his family and dog, Willie. Ameuel was a loving husband and father who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Gracie Young; wife Nola Young; parents-in-law Bernard and Eula (Cude) Hart; infant son; brothers George (Imogene) Young, Bud (Helen) Young and Robert Young; sisters Marvie (Ernest) Matlock, Dorothy (RP) Cobb and Alma Dean (Albert) Eubanks and sister-in-law Charlotte (Claude) Sherrill.
He is survived by his son Len (Rebecca) Young of Steelville, MO; brother Edward (Linda) Young of Leachville, AR; sister Wanda (John) Anderson of Ft. Smith, AR; sister-in-law Marcella Young of Springfield, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Visitation will also be from 11:00AM—1:00PM with Funeral Service immediately following on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at DeClue Funeral Home (301 E High St, Potosi, MO) with Rev. Loise Moses officiating. Burial will be at Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Potosi, MO with full military honors. Memorials may be given to ASPCA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
