Anna Forshee Obituary

Anna Lee Forshee, nee Bell, of Arnold, MO and formerly of Sligo, MO was born on Tuesday, January 4, 1927 in Dillard, MO to William “Willie” Wesley Bell and Zelma Izeta Bell (nee Anderson).  She passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Sindelar Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 23 days.

Anna grew up in Sligo, MO before moving to St. Louis, MO when she was 16 years old.  She married Albert Lawrence in 1943 and to this union a daughter, Alberta, was born.  She later married Finis Forshee in St. Louis, MO and to this union two sons, Donald and Ronald, were born.  Anna worked at General Grocery in St. Louis and then as a pastry chef at the Fox School District where she later retired.  She had accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age.  She enjoyed traveling, quilting, fishing and hunting.  Most of all, Anna loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents William “Willie” and Zelma Bell; parents-in-law; first husband Albert Lawrence; second husband Finis Forshee; daughter Judith “Alberta” (Donald) Turnbough; siblings Elmer Bell, Dema (Quinton) Laney, Earl Bell, Dormalee “Berniece” Conaway, Bertha “Anna” Forshee, Louis “Louie” Bell, Harold Bell and Goldie “Virginia” Shockley, Eva “Evie” Huskey; sister-in-law June (Bill) Farmer; great great grandsons Jeremy Lee Turnbough and Mark Albert Brown; great great great grandchildren Riley Lee Zimmer and Carson Lee Zimmer; nieces and nephews.

Anna is survived by her sons Donald Forshee (companion Lillie) of Arnold, MO and Ronald (Diane) Forshee of Festus, MO; grandchildren Jeff (Norma) Turnbough and Angela Turnbough both of Cherryville, MO, Sandra (Patrick) Costello of St. Louis, MO and Laura (Matt) Asinger of Pevely, MO; great grandchildren Justin (Lacey)Turnbough, Dalton (Wendy) Turnbough, Alicia Spycher, Ryan (Rayauna) Zimmer, Audrey Forshee, Maddie Kaltmeyer, Jack Asinger and Anna Asinger; great great grandchildren Jeremy and Jayden Turnbough, Blake, Carlee and Paisley Turnbough; great great great grandchildren Trey Turnbough, Bently Spycher, Donald McCallum and Jacob McCallum and Eliana Zimmer; sister Edith "Norma" Biggs of Salem, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

There was a private burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Arrangements were handled by Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis, MO.
