Anthony "Tony" Leroy Sutherland

Anthony “Tony” Leroy Sutherland, of St. Charles, MO, previously of Steelville, MO, was born on Wednesday, October 19, 1966 in Granite City, IL to Ronald Leroy Sutherland and Wanda (Moore) Sutherland.  He passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the age of 54 years and 3 days.

Tony had attended Steelville Schools and then moved to St. James, MO where he played football and graduated from St. James High School.  He later attended St. Louis Community College - Meramec for drafting and began his job with UPS where he worked for 33 years.  He belonged to the Teamsters union.  Tony loved the outdoors whether it was taking a ride in the side by side, floating or camping.  He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tony loved to play poker.  Most of all, Tony loved his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Wanda Sutherland; paternal grandparents Swithin and Margaret (Ogle) Sutherland; maternal grandparents George and Cindy Moore; cousin Roger McMillen; other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tony is survived by his cousins Claudia (Tim) Horne of Piedmont, MO, Glenda (Mark) Ehrlich of Oakville, MO, Mark (Karen) McMillen of St. Charles, MO, Amy McMillen of St. James, MO, Tom (Caroline) Boldt of Steelville, MO, Jay (Teri) McMillen of Joplin, MO, Regina (Greg) Mertz of Los Alamos, NM and Barbara Schafale of FL; Carol Bodi of Alton, IL; other cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Bro. Tommy Boldt officiating.  Burial was at Keysville Cemetery, Steelville, MO.  Memorials were suggested to Keysville Cemetery. (Mail to Beverly Kelley 2228 Burns Ave Overland, MO 63114).
