Audrey Louise Anderson, nee Kitson, of Cuba, MO, was born in Winfield, MO on Thursday, August 3, 1944, to Champ Clark Kitson and Leona Belle Kitson, nee Watts. She passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 26 days.
Audrey was raised in Moscow Mills, MO and Overland, MO, then graduated from Ritenour High School in St. Louis, MO. She married the love of her life, James Roy Anderson, on December 17, 1960, in Overland, MO, and to this union four children were born. Audrey had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, was a member of Covenant Praise Church of God in Cuba, MO and devoted many years faithfully serving in the church. Audrey worked for Schweitzer Manufacturing Company in Rolla, MO for over 20 years, and had worked in sales and customer service. She enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, caring for wild birds and church activities. She loved trips to Branson and the shows at Sight and Sound Theater. Audrey especially enjoyed shopping, but most of all loved spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James “Jim” Anderson, Sr.; father, Champ Kitson; mother, Leona (Bill) Brakefield; parents-in-law, Roy (Alva) Anderson; brothers, Clark Kitson and Edward (Gerry) Kitson; sister, Margie Dietrich; sisters-in-law, Joan Bereuter, Judith (Frank) Farley and Dorothy Kitson.
Audrey is survived by her children, Tammy (husband Ed) Harman of Cuba, MO, James (wife Rita) Anderson of Farmington, MN, Jeff (wife Karen) Anderson of Ballwin, MO and Jason (wife Debbie) Anderson of Farmington, MO; grandchildren, Christina (husband Kevin) Crowley, Joshua (wife Hayley) Anderson, Kayla (husband Donovan) Kostron, Samuel “AJ” (wife Tabatha) Harman, Dillon (wife Romina) Anderson, Shelby Anderson, Austin Anderson, Jordan Anderson and Emma Grace Anderson; great grandchildren, Samuel Harman and Maggie Harman; brother, Ken Kitson of Collinsville, IL; sister-in-law, Shirley Kitson of St. Louis, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO . Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeremiah Wilson officiating. Burial was at Meramec Hills Cemetery in Cuba, MO. Memorials were suggested to the Covenant Praise Church Missions Fund.
