Barbara Catherine (Bell) Jenkins

Barbara Catherine Jenkins, nee Bell, of Boss, MO was born on Saturday, November 13, 1943 in Salem, MO to Virgil Bell and Helen June Bell (nee Walker).  She passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Phelps Health in Rolla, MO at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 21 days.

Barbara graduated from Cherryville High School.  She married the love of her life, Marvin Ralph Jenkins in Indianapolis, IN and to this union 4 children were born. She worked as a cook at Tower Inn, Montauk and Salem Hospital.  Barbara had accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and attended the Church of Christ in Licking, MO.  She loved reading, cooking and watching the birds they fed.  Most of all, Barbara loved her family and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Helen Bell; husband Marvin Jenkins; parents-in-law; son Terry Lee Jenkins; daughter-in-law Linda Bell; sister Shirley (Joe) Goldner; nephew Eric Milton and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Barbara is survived by her children Marcia (Dale) Troesch, Wendy (Carl) Nash and Frank Jenkins all of Salem, MO; siblings Virgil “Richard” Bell (companion Frances Henson) of Hermitage, MO, Arlene (Kenneth “Jack”) Stanfast, Kenneth “Butch” Bell both of Salem, MO, Judith “Kay” (Greg) Enke of Lecoma, MO and Tim Bell of Boss, MO; 10 grandchildren: Marvin “Eddie”, Virginia, Katie, Robert, DeAnna (Eric), Bryan (Jennifer), Victoria, Andrea, Justin, Kristi (Jared); many great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Pastor Doug Massey officiating.  Burial was at Eaton Cemetery in Cherryville, MO.  Memorials were suggested to Eaton Cemetery, (102 Ridgeview Rd Cuba, MO 65453).
