Betsey Elaine Young

Betsey Elaine Young of St. Clair, MO was born on Saturday, September 29, 1973 in Rolla, MO to Lee R. Young and Eula (Reeves) Young.  She passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, MO at the age of 47 years, 2 months and 2 days.

Betsey graduated from Steelville High School with the Class of 1991.  She then went to Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Law.  She worked for many years for the Missouri Department of Social Services in the Family Support Division.  She loved crafting and made Christmas ornaments every year.  She also loved playing board and card games with family and friends.  She enjoyed traveling and loved going anywhere that she could see the ocean.  She was an animal lover and had four cats that she was crazy about.  She also went almost every weekend to the movies with her sister, and she called her mother every night without fail.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Conn and Pansy Young; grandmother Countis Reeves and brother Paul Young.

She is survived by her parents Lee and Eula Young of Steelville, MO; sister Denese Young of Licking, MO; partner Donald Turner of St. Clair, MO; best friend Aimee Paulson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family chose cremation as her final disposition.  Visitation was  from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 29, 2021.  Memorial Service immediately followed at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  The Memorial Service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook Page.
