Betty Jean Harmon, nee Hanebery, of Rolla, MO and formerly of Bourbon, MO, was born on Monday, December 9, 1935 in Wentzville, MO, to Willis "Bud" Hanebery and Alice F. Hanebery, nee Schlueter. She passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Silverstone Place in Rolla, MO, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 2 days.
Betty grew up in St. Louis, MO. She married Donald Lee Walker on December 13, 1951 in Jamaica, NY, and to this union 2 children, Michael and Jeannie, were born. She later married the love of her life, Ernest “Paul” Harmon, Sr, on September 30, 1977, in Sullivan, MO, and shared 40 years together. Betty was a homemaker and liked to sew and crochet. She loved to fish, hunt and read. Most of all, Betty loved time spent with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis “Bud” and Alice Hanebery; husband, Paul Harmon, Sr.; father-in-law, Elmer Harmon; mother-in-law, Florence Harmon (husband, Art) Rawlings; son, Michael Walker; sons-in-law, Scott Kean, Michael Garrett, Jim Brown and Steve Blankenship; sisters-in-law, Norma (Harvey) Compton, Geraldine (Roger) McMahon and Wilma (Carmen) Petrungaro; brother-in-law, Kenny Snyder; great granddaughter Raegan Miller.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Kean of St. James, MO; step-children, “Bud” Paul Harmon, Jr. (wife, Patty) of Stanton, MO, Sheila Brown of Cuba, MO, Faye Garrett of Cape Girardeau, MO, Pauline Blankenship of Sullivan, MO and Debbie (husband, Greg) Anderson of Quincy, MO; daughter-in-law, Henrietta Walker of Tijeras, NM; sister-in-law, Joyce Snyder of Chaffee, MO; 22 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Patrick Singleton and Pastor Don Mitchell officiating. Burial is at Bourbon Cemetery.
