Betty Ann (Robertson) Lefler

Betty Ann Lefler, nee Robertson, of Steelville, MO was born on Monday, February 17, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Edward Bryant Robertson and Trula Esther Hutchings (nee Fryman). She passed away at her home on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the age 75 years, 2 months and 26 days.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Crawford County and attended grade school in Berryman, MO.  She married the love of her life, Curtis Leo Lefler on November 17, 1965 in Steelville, MO and together they raised six children.  Betty had accepted the Lord as her personal Savior.  She was a natural caregiver; she worked as a nurse’s aide at Gibbs Care Center for many years and at home was a nurse for many animals, including the wild animals she raised.  She enjoyed gardening and flowers, and especially liked rose bushes and poinsettias.  She loved her dogs and many cats.  Most of all, Betty cared most about her family and being around them.  She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father Edward Robertson; mother Trula Hutchings; husband Curtis "Curt" Lefler; parents-in-law John  "Pete" Lefler and "Kitty" Lefler; siblings Wanda Hawkins, Sybil (James) Ogrezewalla, Rick Hutchings, Patricia (Odell) Evans and Charlene (Junior) Amberge; brothers-in-law Darrell Evans and Jerry King; sons Curtis "Billy" William Lefler and Roger Dale Lefler; grandchildren Rebecca Janelle Murphy and Peyton Thomlinson.

Betty is survived by her children Alvin Harmon (Natalie Eye), Steven (Denyal) Lefler and Esther (Tim) Richardson all of Steelville, MO and Rickey (Cynthia) Harmon of Cherryville, MO; siblings Geraldine King, Donna Tittsworth, Sonny (Mary) Hutchings and Edward “June Bug” (Sandra) Robertson all of Steelville, MO and Jestine Evans of Effingham, IL; sister-in-law Karen Hutchings of Cuba, MO; grandchildren Jennifer Johnston and Amy Young both of Festus, MO, Joshua Harmon of Davisville, MO, Isaiah Harmon, Wyatt Phenix and Logan Phenix all of Cherryville, MO, Josh Murphy and Amber Henry both of Cook Station, MO, Miranda Harmon, Kendra Lefler, Ryan Evans, Breanna Lefler, Whitney Lefler, Preston Lefler, Morgan Lefler, Danielle Trautwein, Bobby Richardson and Stacey Richardson all of Steelville, MO, Alisha Lefler of Sedalia, MO, Ashley Thomlinson and Jerry Heeter both of Potosi, MO; great grandchildren Alexis Sholts, Adelynn Johnston, Tyler Young and Hailey Young all of Festus, MO, Cheyanne Harmon of Davisville, MO, Halie Murphy, Alise Murphy, Catelynn Murphy, Jacob Henry, William Henry, Daniel Henry, and Brooklyn Henry all of Cook Station, MO, Ryker Brooks, Tristan Oberline, Atreus Bartosik, Jase Evans, Lucy Evans, Remmy Schneider, Zac Eaton, Zoey Eaton, Willow Jaycox, Braden Richardson and Bennett Richardson all of Steelville, MO, Journey Turner of Viburnum, MO and Piper Thomlinson of Potosi, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service was at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO with Bro. Charlie Jackson officiating.  The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook page..  Burial was at Shoal Creek Cemetery, Steelville, MO.  Memorials were suggested to the funeral home to help the family with final expenses.
