Betty Lucille Tiner, nee Barr, of Cuba, MO was born on Sunday, November 27, 1927 in Davisville, MO to Marion Fredrick Barr and Susan Eva Barr, nee Britton. She passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Cuba Manor at the age of 96 years, 5 months and 17 days.
Betty grew up in the Czar and Viburnum area where she attended grade school. She married the love of her life, Louis Lazelle Tiner on November 26, 1949 in St. Louis, MO, having a double wedding with her sister Anna, and to this union 3 children were born. She worked as an egg sorter in St. Louis, as a private security guard in Tulsa, OK, a nurse's aide in Jonesboro, AR and as a home care nurse in Sullivan, MO. Betty had accepted the Lord and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cuba, MO. She loved to listen to music. She was a natural caregiver and spent most of her time taking care of her family while also working to help support her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Susan Barr; parents-in-law William and Lela Tiner; husband Louis L.Tiner; siblings Dorothy (Leonard) Turnbough, Hallie (Murphy) Turnbough, Clarence "Jack" (Vivian) Barr, Anna Mae (Floyd) Hartwick and infant brother Glenwood Barr; brothers-in-law Chester "Chet" Brey and Billy Tiner; sister-in-law Norma (William) Davis; grandson Todd Tiner.
Betty is survived by her children Warren (Jan) Tiner of Lake City, AR, Randy (Rena) Tiner of Cuba, MO and Sharon (Johnny) Pagan of Bay, AR; sister Peggy Brey of Allegan, MI; grandchildren Britton (Molly) Tiner of Lake City, AR, Travis (Heather) Tiner of Bolivia, NC, Daniel (Erin) Pagan of Paragould, AR, Tracy (Steve) Slover of Centralia, IL, Casey Kruse of St. Louis, MO, Jenna (Tim) Good and Tyler Campbell both of Cuba, MO, Jessica Tiner of St. James, MO, and Kevin Tiner of San Antonio, TX; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers and Pastor Jim Moore officiating. The Service was livestreamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO's Facebook Page. Burial was at Czar Cemetery, Viburnum, MO. Memorials were suggested to Czar Cemetery (PO Box 312 Viburnum, MO 65566).
