Billie Lee (Cox) Ruth

Billie Lee Ruth, nee Cox, of Cuba, Missouri was born on Friday, July 13, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri to John David Cox and Mary Katherine Marcell Cox. She passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 28 days.

She grew up in Kansas City, Mo area and attended East High School. She worked at Speas Vinegar Plant and attended business college for a while. She also worked as a cashier at a convenience store. While working, she met and married James Dale Ruth Sr and together they raised 3 sons.  Billie had accepted the Lord early in life and was a member of Kingston Baptist Church where she attended regularly when the boys were younger. In later years, she moved to Cuba, MO to live closer to her sons. She was artistic and loved to draw and color. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as long as her health allowed. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Katherine Cox, and twin sister Jackie M. Cox.

Billie is survived by her sons David (Dawn) Ruth, Daniel (Christina) Ruth both of Cuba, MO and James (Patricia) Ruth, Jr. of Liberty, MO; brother John (Patricia) Cox of Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Memorial Service immediately followed at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.  The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
