Billie "Jean" (Aden) Brooks

Billie "Jean" Brooks, nee Aden, of Steelville, MO was born on Monday, September 2, 1940 in Datto, AR to William "Bill" and Viola Kimble Aden.  She passed away at her home in Steelville, MO on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the age of 81 years and 19 days.

Jean attended school in Reyno, AR.  She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at a young age.  She married the love of her life, Charles "Charlie" Thomas Brooks on June 1, 1957 in St. Louis, MO and to this union 4 sons were born.  She took care of her family and loved children.  She watched all of her grandchildren, even additional kids that she thought of as her own.  She was a member of "Anglers of Missouri" in Union, MO.  Jean enjoyed to play games and gambling, whether it was BINGO, penny poker, pass the trash, 9 pins or bowling and made the games more fun by "cheating" to win.  She enjoyed going out to dinner on Friday nights, especially at Sirloin Stockade.  She enjoyed her flowers, the outdoors and swimming.  She loved having family get-togethers , barbeques and fish fries.  Jean loved the beach and cats, especially Fluffer and Babe.  Most of all, she just loved her family and having them around.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Viola Aden; parents-in-law Dannie and Mary Brooks; husband Charlie Brooks; son Tom Brooks, Sr.; brothers Leo Aden and Darrel Aden; sisters-in-law Chris Aden, Doris Coleman and Janet Brooks; brothers-in-law Dale Brooks, Sam (Melody) Brooks, Chester "Chet" (Dorothy) Brooks and 2 great grandchildren, Skyler Glore and Sadie Summers.

Jean is survived by her children Ricky (Anita) Brooks of Cuba, MO, Danny (Lisa) Brooks of Steelville, MO and Kenny Brooks formerly of St. James, MO; daughter-in-law Brenda Brooks of Steelville, MO; brothers Ted Aden of Sullivan, MO and Jackie (Nancy) Aden of Fenton, MO; sisters-in-law Ruth Ann (Milton) Dornseif of Arnold, MO, Rita Mahurin of West Plains, MO and Nettie Aden of IL; brothers-in-law Joe Brooks of St. Charles, MO and Leonard Coleman of Wright City, MO; 8 grandchildren, Tommy (Heidi) Brooks of San Diego, CA, Becky (Kerry Jr. “Spank) Summers of Steelville, MO, Madison (Beth) Brooks of Rolla, MO, Ryan Brooks of St. Marys, GA, Robbie Brooks (companion Miranda), Brad (Beth) Brooks all of Steelville, MO, Jessica (Levi) Marks of Vilseck, Germany and Jennifer (Kevin) Glore of Steelville, MO; 23 great grandchildren, Kensi Brooks, Madison, Bryer, Hunter and Paislee Summers, Dakota, Brett, Mackentzie and Hailie Brooks, Kaleb Zmich, Kaylee, Peyton, Jaxson, Kelcee and Ryker Brooks, Cash and Charlie Brooks, Lyric, Liberty and Emelia Glore, Luke, Adam and Jude Marks; 2 great great grandchildren Haylee and Peyton Warren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed with Rev. Alan Miles officiating and was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook Page.  The family chose cremation as her final disposition.  Memorials were suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses.

Pallbearers were Robbie Brooks, Brad Brooks, Ryan Brooks, Kerry "Spank" Summers, Hunter Summers and Bryer Summers.
