Bobby Dean Link

Bobby Dean Link of Cuba, MO, was born on Friday, November 20, 1959 in Steelville, MO.  He passed away at Cuba Manor on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 16 days.

Through the years he worked as an auto mechanic. Bobby loved music and especially playing the guitar. Many evenings were spent playing music beside his brother and friends. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and floating. Bobby liked to decorate for every holiday and Halloween was a favorite. He looked forward to passing candy to trick or treaters and enjoying the costumes. Bobby had 2 dogs named Bear and Sadie that were his steadfast companions. Later in life, Bobby enjoyed feeding birds and kept stocked feeders by his windows.

In December of 1980, Bobby married Darlene (née Volner) Retkowski. Bobby and Darlene raised 4 children during their union of 10 years.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Gene” Dicus Sr. and mother, Geraldine (née Chandler) Dicus; sister Norma Jean Dicus; daughter Rebecca Sue Emily, and grandson Leland J.N. Coombs.

Bobby is survived by his children, Marlenea Coombs of Cherryville, MO, Trishia Emrick of St. James, MO, Nichole (Adam) Gwaltney of Bourbon, MO and Bobby Link (companion Ashley Froud) of Steelville, MO; seven grandchildren Haylee Coombs (TJ Hoke), Ethan Coombs, Emerald Emrick, Colton Chandler, Cole Chandler, Isabel Chandler (Sam Eastham), Jaxton Link; great granddaughters Juniper and unborn twins; brother Clarence “Gene” Jr. (Patty) Dicus of Steelville, MO;  many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Memorial Service immediately followed at 6:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
