Bonnie Kay Hemby, nee Williams, was born on, Saturday, September 5, 1953, in Wichita Falls, TX to J.D. Williams and Lois D. Cobble. She passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Cuba Manor in Cuba, MO at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 3 days.
Bonnie graduated in the Class of 1971 from Rochester High School in Rochester, WA. She later went to Linn Technical College. Bonnie married Edward Carol Hemby on June 10, 1973 in Steilacoom, WA and to this union three children were born. She was a homemaker while raising her children, worked at Brown Shoe Company in Steelville, MO until it’s closing and lastly as a biscuit maker at Hardee’s in Cuba, MO. Bonnie loved camping, fishing and knitting. She collected chicken, rooster and pheasant figurines. Bonnie also enjoyed baking cookies and cake. Most of all, Bonnie loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Hemby, Sr.; parents J.D. Williams and Lois Cobble; parents-in-law Mirl E. (Delores) Hemby; siblings Dave Williams and Jan Latimer; brother-in-law Steve Strause.
She is survived by her children Edward C. Hemby, Jr. of Hopkins, MO, Colby (Christy) Hemby of Steelville, MO and Kristy Hemby of Rush Hill, MO; siblings Harvey (Debbie) Williams of Rochester, WA, Carol Strause of Davenport, IA and Mary Weaver of AR; 12 grandchildren, Alyssa Hemby of Rolla, MO, Dillon Hemby and Justin Dawson both of Sullivan, MO, Shelby (Kaleb) Britton, Wyatt Hemby, Cassie Hemby, Dawson Hajek, Lucas Hemby and Logan Hemby all of Steelville, MO, Kathlyn Dawson of Mexico, MO, Kasey Dawson of Lake of the Ozarks, MO and Sierra Dawson of Rush Hill, MO; great grandchildren Emma Midyett, Josie Midyett both of Steelville, MO, Remington Hemby and Draco Hemby both of Cuba, MO, Addison Bias and Alaina Bias both of Mexico, MO and Reed Dawson of Sullivan, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Burial was at St. Michael Cemetery, Steelville, MO. Memorials were suggested to the family to help with final expenses.
