Carla Sue (Whittaker) Weston

Carla Sue Weston, nee Whittaker, of Nevada, MO was born on Wednesday, February 23, 1966, in Rolla, MO to Leamon Carl Whittaker and Charlotte Alittie Whittaker, nee Harmon.  She passed away at her mother's home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 15 days.

Carla graduated from Macks Creek High School in the Class of 1984.  She married Gary Keever and spent many years traveling with him while he was employed as a truck driver.  She loved singing and would sing over the CB radio in the evenings to help keep the other drivers awake.  She enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, crocheting and knitting.  She had a love for animals. She raised schipperke dogs, had a beloved Weimaraner dog named, “Precious” and especially loved horses.  Most of all, Carla loved her family and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rev. Curtis and Thelma Harmon; paternal grandparents Elmer and Maerose Whittaker; brother Robert Eugene Glore-Whittaker.
 

Carla is survived by her mother Charlotte Whittaker of Macks Creek, MO; father Leamon Whittaker of Albuquerque, NM; siblings Cynthia “Cyndi” Whittaker-Woods of Stockton, MO, Dennis (Carolina) Whittaker and James Whittaker both of Macks Creek, MO and Breann Renee Whittaker of Bolivar, MO; special friend and ex-husband Gary Keever of FL; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Pastor Byron Willis officiating.  The Service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO’s Facebook Page.  Burial was at Shoal Creek Cemetery in Steelville, MO.  Memorials were suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
