Carol Mae Vanek, nee Adam, of Cuba, MO, formerly of Cedar Hill, MO, was born on Wednesday, August 11, 1943 in Chicago, IL to Alfred E. Adam and Virginia (Bank) Adam. She passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 6 days.
Carol grew up around Chicago, IL. She met the love of her life when she was just 12 years old, John "Jack" Donald Vanek, who she later married on June 13, 1963 in Chicago, IL and to this union two children were born. She was a dairy farmer and also a transporter. Carol enjoyed the outdoors, going out on the boat, working in the yard and loved to rake leaves. She liked animals. She was an amazing cook and made awesome german potato salad and vanilla pudding cakes. Carol enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, and most of all just loved being at home and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Virginia Adam; parents-in-law John and Dolores Vanek; sister Joan Adam; brother-in-law William Vanek and sisters-in-law Gloria Vanek and Jean Vanek.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Vanek of Cuba, MO; son John (Patricia) Vanek of Hillsboro, MO; daughter Joan (Barry) Harrison of O'Fallon, MO; granddaughter Katie Harrison of O'Fallon, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family chose cremation as Carol's final disposition. There will not be any services held at this time.
