Christene was a lifelong Crawford County resident.  She grew up in Cook Station, MO.  She accepted the Lord at a young age and attended Wesco Baptist Church.  After graduation from Steelville High School she went to St. Louis, MO and worked at American Associated Insurance.  She lived with an aunt and uncle and worked as a filing clerk.  Having already met her future husband, Earl D. She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Millie Carr; parents-in-law Benjamin and Martha Grubaugh; brother Thomas Carr; sisters Lois (Harry) Missey and Judy (Tom) Worley; brothers-in-law Gene Hogue, Gary Dillingham, Henry (Nadine) Grubaugh, Matthew (Lou) Grubaugh, Wayne (Eloise) Grubaugh and Benjamin Grubaugh; sisters-in-law Nellie (Chester) Griffith, Anna (Ike) Steck, Dollie (Bob) Woods and Josephine Grubaugh; son-in-law Larry Adams.
