Colby Lane Dorf, of Denver, CO and previously of Cuba, MO, was born on Wednesday, April 26, 1995 in Rolla, MO to Ned K. Dorf and Tammy Sue Dorf, nee Weaver. He passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024 in Denver, CO at the age of 29 years and 14 days.
Colby went to Cuba High School and graduated in the Class of 2013. During that time, he was involved in many sports and extracurricular activities. He played basketball, ran track and cross country, played saxophone in the band and went to state for select choir. He helped manage the high school volleyball team, was a member of the speech and drama club, president of student council and was class president. Colby later graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO with a Bachelors in Sociology. After college graduation, he moved to Denver, CO. He had worked in various retail clothing stores such as Marshalls, Levi and lastly was the assistant manager at GAP. He enjoyed his work and looking his best. Colby was very outgoing and could light up the room with his smile. He especially loved music, going to concerts and being with his friends. Colby developed a love of hiking, camping and the outdoors in Denver. Most of all, Colby loved his family and spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his father Ned Dorf; maternal grandparents Charlie and Elsie Weaver; paternal grandparents Spencer and Joyce Dorf; special aunt Anna Farrar; uncles Tim Weaver, DeWayne Weaver, Phil Dorf and Bill Green; cousins Chad Marz and Josh Staples.
Colby is survived by his loving mother Tammy (Matt) Tighe of Cuba, MO; sisters Shelby (Alister) Beardshaw of Walker, LA, Michelle (Wes) Hampton of Salem, MO and Meegen Hancock (fiancé Jason Gavelis) of Van Buren, AR; 3 nephews Archie Beardshaw, Brasyn Hampton and Aisten Hampton; partner Troy Bailey of Denver, CO; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service is at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO with Pastor Tommy Miller officiating. The Service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO's Facebook Page. Burial was at Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, MO. Memorials were suggested to Martin-Trask Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Cameron Peyton, Ryan Weaver, Wes Hampton, Luke Marz, Alister Beardshaw and Joe Caudle. Honorary pallbearers were: Brasyn Hampton and Aisten Hampton.
