October 26, 1941 ~ December 29, 2023 (age 82) 82 Years Old
Cort L. Bick, of Cuba, MO, was born on Sunday, October 26, 1941 in St. Louis, MO to Orville F. Bick and Frances Bick, nee Giesler. He passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO on Friday, December 29, 2023 at the age of 82 years.
Cort graduated from the Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis and St. Mary's College in San Antonio, TX. He married Joyce Ann French in January of 1964 at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX and to this union three sons were born. He later married Kathleen Quann. Cort was the Senior Vice President at Southside National Bank in St. Louis, MO and also served as President of the Southside Trust Company. He worked as a Loan Officer at Bank of Sullivan and was mainly known for being the chef at his own fine dining restaurant, Franklin Street Food Co. in Cuba, MO. Cort enjoyed woodworking, golfing and fishing. He was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan and never missed watching a game, but also enjoyed watching college football and basketball. Cort's main passion was cooking, in the evenings after working all day at the bank he would work at restaurants to learn all the tricks in their kitchens so he could do his best when he opened his restaurant. He was even recognized in the Post Dispatch. Most of all, Cort loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Bick; parents Orville and Frances Bick; parents-in-law; son Clayton Bick; sister Orlean (husband Robert "Bob") McAuliffe.
Cort is survived by his sons Andy (Pam) Bick of Cuba, MO and Charles (Christina) Bick of St. Louis, MO; daughter-in-law Sherry Bick of Moville, IA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cort requested cremation for his final disposition. The family had a Memorial Gathering from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO.
