Daniel "Big Boo" Bennett Boone, Sr.

Daniel "Big Boo" Bennett Boone, Sr., of Steelville, MO, was born on Wednesday, September 6, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, to Benjamin "Pete" Bennett Boone and Doris Mae Boone, nee Brinkmeyer.  He passed away at his home in Steelville, MO, on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 8 days.

Daniel grew up in St. Louis, MO and attended Hazelwood High School.  In 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served his country honorably during Vietnam.  He was stationed in Thailand and was a Military Police.  When he returned, he went to work for the family printing company, Charben Printing in Florissant, MO, where he later retired after 40 years.  He was married for 19 years to Barbara Grenzebach, and to this union two children, Landra and Daniel Jr., were born.  He later married the love of his life, Terry Ann Hough, on December 4, 1985, in St. Louis, MO and together shared 4 children that they both loved as their own.  Daniel loved the outdoors, whether it was riding four wheelers, hunting, fishing or being out on his boat.  He enjoyed cooking, often referred to as ‘Betty Crocker’ and was a card shark, being very competitive.  He was a people person, enjoyed socializing and never met a stranger.  Daniel really enjoyed politics and was often found in Facebook jail.  Most of all, he loved his family and time spent with them.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin “Pete” and Doris Boone; wife, Terry Boone; parents-in-law, Bill and Madaline Hough; sister, Nancy (husband Terry) Pashea.

Daniel is survived by his loving children, Landra Talbot of Farmington, MO, Daniel Jr. (wife Jen) Boone of Farmington, MO, Michele (husband Steve) Green and Richard “RB” (wife Heather) Boone both of Steelville, MO; sisters-in-law, Sharon (husband Steve) Brown and Kerry (husband John) Hodges of both of St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law, Kevin Hough (Brandi Maher) of KY; grandchildren, Kelsey Talbot of St. Ann, MO, Shayne (wife Allison) Talbot of Clarks Hill, IN, Amy (husband Bobby) Payne, Gavin, Madalynn, GracieMae and Jordan Boone all of Steelville, MO, Justin and Sadie Cazares both of Farmington, MO; great grandchildren, Brynley Talbot and Samantha Payne; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Celebration of Life immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Pastor Roger Silvey officiating.  The family chose cremation as his final disposition.  In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to the family to help with final expenses.
