Danny Lee Harmon

Danny Lee Harmon of Steelville, MO was born on Sunday, June 7, 1964 in Salem, MO to Clifton Monroe Harmon and Lucille (Martin) Harmon. He passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 2 days.

Danny attended Steelville Schools. He married the love of his life, Ranae Lunsford on May 13, 1989 at Cherryville Assembly of God Church and together raised their two children.  Danny was a logger and owned Danny Harmon Logging.  Before he started his own logging business, Danny worked for MODOT for 7 years.  In recent years he helped clear snow and ice during the winter season.  Danny was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish, gig and hunt both deer and turkey.  He enjoyed going on side by side rides, boating, riding four wheelers and going fast in whatever he was driving.  He liked to go camping, shooting guns and his job logging.  Danny was a jokester, he loved to pick, cut up and laugh.  He was very loyal and if he gave you his word, you knew he’d keep it.  Most of all, Danny loved his family.  He was the best dad, grandpa and husband who will be missed so much.

He was preceded in death by his father Clifton Harmon; mother-in-law Sylvia Irine (Ferguson) Lunsford; brother-in-law Mike Lunsford; nephew Dale Lunsford, Jr.; nieces Shalanna “Shay” Harmon and Chelsey Harmon; many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Ranae Harmon of Steelville, MO; children Preston Gillam and Nicole Harmon both of Steelville, MO; grandchildren Olivia and Bryce Hoss of Steelville, MO; mother Lucille Harmon of Steelville, MO; siblings Leroy (Peggy) Martin, Mary "Sis" (Vernon) Roark, Jack (Cheryl) Harmon, Mike Harmon, Johnny (Kim) Harmon, Lorry Harmon, Randy (Myra) Harmon and Sharon Harmon (companion Jeff VanBibber) all of Steelville, MO, James (Margaret) Harmon of Cherryville, MO and Barbara (Dale) Walker of Salem, MO; father-in-law Norman Lunsford of Steelville, MO; brother-in-law Dale (Beverly) Lunsford of Steelville, MO; sisters-in-law Carolyn (Mike) Davis and Judi Harmon both of Steelville, MO; aunts Martha Martin of Steelville, MO, Mary Martin of Cherryville, MO, Venita (Don) Humphrey of KS, Charlotte Harmon of Springfield, MO, Linda Stoner of Macks Creek, MO and Bernice King of Hillsboro, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service was at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO, with Pastor Harrison Brown and Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial will be at Steelville Cemetery.  Memorials were given to the family to help with final expenses.
