Danny Lynn Lee

Danny Lynn Lee of Cuba, MO, was born on Thursday, June 21, 1956, in St. Louis, MO to Lonnie Lynn Lee and Winnie “Marie” Marriott Lee.  He passed away at his residence on Monday, May 2, 2022, at the age of 65 years, 10 months, and 11 days.

Danny grew up and lived most of his life in the Cuba and Bourbon, MO areas.  He graduated from Cuba High School in the class of 1974 and then attended Rolla Vo-Tech Institute for carpentry and electrical training.  He worked at Burlington Northern Railroad Company as a signal maintainer and retired after more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed hunting in his early years and raising chickens later in life.  He loved collecting and working on automobiles, barbecuing, metal detecting at the old movie theater, and looking for arrowheads at the creek with his children and grandchildren.  Danny volunteered for the local Hospice group – taking patients bowling and to their appointments, reading and playing cards with them, or just spending time helping in any way.  He was also active in trying to start up a Traumatic Brain Injury Group locally.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Marie Marriott Lee; brother Jerry Lee; sister Rhonda Pitts; brother-in-law Doug Ritter; and niece Kristy Lee.

Danny is survived by his children Ben Lee (fiancée Michelle Durrett) of Cuba, MO and Courtney Lee (wife Christa Whitacre) of Rolla, MO; grandchildren Brandon of Ft. Hood, Tx, Miranda, Tyler both of Rolla, MO, Dylan and Blake both of Cuba, MO;  siblings Donnie Lee, Keith Lee, and Tim (Sally) Lee all of Bourbon, MO,  Roger Lee of MO, Kenny (Pam) Lee of Potosi, MO, Connie (Steve) Pittaluga of Maryland Heights, MO, Randy (Sharon) Lee of Cuba, MO, Judy (Robert) Schaffer of St. Clair, MO, Rita Ritter of  Springfield, MO and Eddie (Carol ) Lee of Villa Ridge, MO;  brother-in-law Tim Pitts of Cook Station, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO.  Celebration of Life will immediately followed at 3:00 PM.  The family chose  cremation as his final disposition.
