Darlene Chew Obituary

Darlene L. Chew of Leasburg, MO was born on Sunday, February 19, 1961, in Belvidere, IL to Robert E. Chew Sr. and Marcella Buchanan Chew.  She passed away at her mother’s residence in Blackwell, MO on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the age of 60 years, 7 months, and 7 days.

She accepted the Lord as her personal savior early in life at the age of 8 years old.  She spent her early years in Cuba, MO and then moved to St. Louis and attended Southwest High School.  She was a nurse’s aide at Briarwood Manor in Cuba, MO and at Missouri Veteran’s Home in St. James, MO.  Darlene had a loving heart and took care of others even when her own health was failing.

She loved pretty flowers, crocheting, playing bingo and Phase 10 with her friends and family, and adored her long hair miniature Chihuahua named Pinball.  She was especially fond of Christmas and enjoyed decorating the whole house, both inside and outdoors. Darlene loved her family and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Chew Sr.; brother Bob Chew Jr.; sister Donna Kay (Tom) Williams; grandmother Mary Helen Gandy; stepfather Charles Sansoucie; stepmother Dormalee Chew and stepsister Jeannie Haney.

Darlene is survived by her loving fiancé Walter Beal of Leasburg, MO; beloved mother Marcella Sansoucie of Blackwell, MO; brothers Mike (Susan) Chew of Plato, MO and Randy (Shelley) Chew of Owensville, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
