David L. Christisen
David L. Christisen of Cuba, MO was born on Monday, August 19, 1935 in Perryville, MO to Arvol B. Christisen and Bessie Frances (Humphrey) Christisen. He passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Cuba at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 17 days.
David served our country honorably in the United States Navy from 1951 through 1959 and during the Korean War. He married Ruby Lou Simpson on June 23, 1956 in Cherryville, MO and to this union three daughters were born. He worked 50 years as a union machinist at Measuregraph Co., St. Louis, MO. He was a member of Steelville Lebanon Masonic Lodge #77 and Freewill Baptist Church, Cuba, MO. His hobbies were woodworking and gardening. David was a very kind, considerate man and had a lot of fun. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arvol and Bessie Christisen; wife Ruby Lou Simpson Christisen; brothers Arvol Christisen and Melvin Christisen; and sister Dolores Pitts.
He is survived by his daughters Donna (Jim) Scott of Cuba, MO, Connie (Michael) Qutami of New Bloomfield, MO and Laurinda (Jimmy) Vitali of Cuba, MO; sisters-in-law Rami Christisen of Las Vegas, NV and Ruth (Elgie) Hill of Cuba, MO; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private Visitation and Funeral Service was at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO with Pastor Don Martin officiating on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. Burial at Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, MO with full military honors. Memorials were suggested to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and/or DAV, Meramec Valley Chapter 65, P.O. Box 747, Cuba, MO 65453.
