David Denzer, of Cuba, MO, and previously of California, was born on Monday, August 17, 1959, in Flint, MI, to Jay Denzer and Audrey Ann Denzer, nee Larkin. He passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 21 days.
David grew up in California and graduated from Carson High School in Carson, CA in the Class of 1977. He met the love of his life, Victoria “Vickie” Covert, while she was a resident at Mathetes in Hawthorne, California and won her heart. They were married on December 28, 1985, in Las Vegas, NV, and to this union two daughters were born. Vickie then joined the US Army and they lived in Germany and Ft. Carson, Colorado before her retirement after 8 years. He attended Westmoreland Community College in Waynesburg, PA. David had accepted the Lord and was strong in his faith. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, guns and going to the shooting range. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was fishing or camping. He loved animals and just being out tinkering. Most of all, David loved spending time with his wife and family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Denzer; mother, Audrey Harris; father-in-law, Freddie Joe Covert; brother, J.D. Denzer.
David is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Denzer of Cuba, MO; mother-in-law, Janice Lee Covert, nee Elkins of Philomath, OR; daughters, Laura Denzer of Cape Girardeau, MO and Sarah Denzer of San Francisco, CA; brothers, Steve Denzer of Achille, OK, Rick Denzer and Dennis Denzer both of Midland, TX; sister-in-law, Mary (husband, John) Comeau of Philomath, OR; brother-in-law, Bill Covert of Hurricane, WV; special aunt, Dorene Comerford of Oceanside, CA; grandchildren, Mailynn, Niki, Sophia, Bella, Torie, Waylon, Michael, Jace and Baby Wells on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Pastor Gene Roark officiating. The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO’s Facebook Page. Burial was at MO Veteran’s Cemetery in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.
