David Raymond Dobbs

David Raymond Dobbs of Steelville, MO was born in Fletcher, MO on Thursday, August 1, 1946 to Raymond Edward Dobbs and Ernestine Lula (Maness) Dobbs.  He passed away at Dixon Nursing and Rehab on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 10 days.

David served honorably in the United States Army where he did two tours in Vietnam.  He married Patricia Brown in Hopewell, MO and to this union a daughter, Tina, was born.  He later married Rebecca Sapper in Jerseyville, IL and together they raised three sons, Shannon, David and Dominic.  Later on, he married Kimberly Bailey on April 18, 2009 in Jerseyville, IL where together they raised Kerry and Susan.  David enjoyed going to car shows and working on old cars.    He loved the outdoors and to watch old westerns and wrestling on tv.  David was very generous and would give anyone the shirt off of his back.  Most of all, David loved his family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Ernestine Dobbs; parents-in-law Bruce and Joetta Bailey; brother Edward Dobbs; sisters Katherine (John) Logan and Donna Kay Payne; stepson Jeremy Bailey and son-in-law David Young. 

He is survived by his loving wife Kim Dobbs of Steelville, MO; children Tina Young of Waynesville, MO, Shannon and wife Tracy Williams of Steelville, MO, David Williams and companion Cathy Wallace of Hillsboro, MO, Dominic Dobbs and fiancee Julie Speranza of Lowville, NY, Kerry Pence of Steelville, MO and Susan and husband Dan Powell of Cuba, MO; siblings Shirley Stevens of St. Louis, MO, Larry and wife Connie Dobbs and Bobby Dobbs all of Steelville, MO and Linda and husband Tim Courtway of Potosi, MO; brother-in-law Jerry Payne of Sullivan, MO; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family chose cremation as his final disposition.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Memorial Service with full military honors will immediately follow with Pastor Rick Haggett officiating.  Memorials may be given to the family to help with final expenses.
