David "Mike" Yocom

David "Mike" Yocom, of Davisville, MO, was born on Tuesday, April 11, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to Billy Eugene Yocom and Willa Mae Yocom, nee McCann.  He was found at his home on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 26 days.

Mike grew up on a dairy farm in Davisville which is now the family farm.  He accepted the Lord early in life and had attended Viburnum Christian Church.  Mike graduated from Cherryville High School and then attended college at SEMO.  He had worked in the oil fields as a “rough neck” on a oil drilling rig in Oklahoma for several years before returning home to the farm where he enjoyed working cattle and his hogs.  He also had his own logging company, “Mike Yocom Logging.”  He liked watching tv and working crossword puzzles.  Most of all, Mike enjoyed hunting,  fishing and being outdoors. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill & Willa Mae Yocom; sister Becky Sue (husband Melvin) Russell. 

Mike is survived by his brother Robert "Steve" (Heidi) Yocom of Davisville, MO; nieces Rachel (Joe) Hopkins of Davisville, MO and Cara Jean Russell of Columbia, MO; cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Memorial Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM.  The family chose cremation as his final disposition.  Inurnment was at Steelville Cemetery.
