Dean Graddy of Sullivan, MO formerly of Bourbon, MO was born on Thursday, September 12, 1940 in Bourbon, MO to Allen Rufus Graddy and Ruth J. Pratt Graddy. He passed away at Cuba Manor on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 12 days.
Dean served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He married Pearlie M. Litaker on May 11, 1963 in Champaign, IL and to this union four children were born. He worked more than 20 years and retired as a heavy equipment operator for Pearidge Mines. He later worked in heating/cooling and as an electrician for Fairway Service, Bourbon, MO. He was a member of the Lasting Hope Assembly of God Church, Bourbon and served as a deacon for many years. He was President of the Planning and Zoning Committee and volunteered at the Food Pantry in Bourbon. His hobbies were gardening, cutting wood, hunting rabbits and squirrels. Dean was friendly and never met a stranger. He would do anything for anybody. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. He will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Ruth Graddy; wife Pearlie M. Graddy; son Jeffrey Graddy; brothers Bill (Pearlene) Graddy, Harold Graddy, Ben Graddy, Ronnie Graddy, Cecil (Rosemary) Graddy and Ed (Kathleen) Graddy; sister Mildred Hurst; grandson Dean Waters; son-in-law Glenn Waters, Sr.; brothers-in-law Marion (Frances) Litaker, Leo ( Betty) Mayberry and Ronnie Pennock; sisters-in-law Lola Mae (Bill) Burrows, Geneva (Robert) Brand, Mick Graddy, and Dorothy Mae Whitaker.
He is survived by his children Sherri (Paul Richard) Waters of Sullivan, MO, Kevin (Heather) Graddy of Sullivan, MO and Andrew (Amanda) Graddy of Bourbon, MO; brother Don (Faye) Graddy of Geyserville, CA; sister Hazel Pennock of Peoria, IL; sisters-in-law Sue Graddy of Effingham, IL and Freda Carter of Kennett, MO; 9 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Visitation was Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 1:00-2:00PM and Memorial Service was at 2:00PM at Lasting Hope Assembly of God Church, Bourbon, MO with Rev. Derick Ruble officiating. Military honors concluded the service.
