Debbie Marie Black

Debbie Marie Black, of Davisville, MO, was born on Friday, March 8, 1963, in St. Louis, MO, to Bill Joe Black and Delores Prichard, nee Elder.  She passed away at Phelps Health Hospital on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 15 days.

Debbie attended Cherryville School and was a lifelong Crawford County resident.  She worked as a Case Manager for DCAI.  Debbie married the love of her life, James “Jim” Ellis Barrett, on June 8, 2023, in Steelville, MO.  She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and attended Midland Pentecostal Assembly in Steelville, MO.  Debbie enjoyed sewing, crocheting blankets and quilting.  She also liked playing cards and horseshoes.  She loved the outdoors, hunting and especially loved fishing.  Most of all, Debbie loved her family and time spent with them.

Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Bill Black; mother, Delores Prichard; father-in-law, Ellis Turnbough; sister, Radonna Turnbough; and brother-in-law, Doug Barrett.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Geraldine “Dean” Black of Cherryville, MO; husband, James “Jim” Barrett of Davisville, MO; children, Rusty (Jenni) Davis of Steelville, James “Carl” Davis of Cherryville, MO, Kevin (Ashley ) Hampton of Viburnum, MO, and Bobbi Joe (Ron) Leasor of Davisville, MO; siblings, Ricky Black of Viburnum, MO, Bobby (Rhonda) Black and Billy (Susan) Black both of Cherryville, MO; sister-in-law, Tammy Barrett of Viburnum, MO; grandchildren, Haylie Warden, Allie Doss, Hannah Davis, Alivia Streckfus, Allison Streckfus, Abigail Streckfus, Andrew Streckfus, Courtney Davis, Tamara Davis, Wyatt Hampton, Alexis Hampton, Ryan Hampton, Anna Leasor, and Sadie Leasor; great grandchildren, Anthony James “AJ” Cook, and Ivory Grace Brooks; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Celebration of Life Service immediately followed at 7:00 PM.  The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
