Debbie Ann Burke, nee Morris, of St. James, MO, was born on Wednesday, February 21, 1968, in Columbia, MO to Robert Lee Morris and Faye Ann Morris, nee Roth. She passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 19 days.
Debbie graduated from Cuba High School in the Class of 1987. She married the love of her life, Michael Joe Burke, on March 22, 1997, at Center Point Baptist Church in Steelville, MO by Rev. Spencer Hutson. With that marriage, she gained a son, Kegan, who she loved as her own. Debbie worked in the health care industry, where she obtained her CNA, worked at Stubblefield Manor in Cuba, MO and cherished all of the residents there, even putting them before bettering herself. She had accepted the Lord and was strong in her faith. Debbie loved all things sunshine, music and water; she enjoyed going to the beach and river with her husband, Mike, tanning and floating in the pool. She was an avid bowler and used to manage the bowling alley in Cuba, MO. She enjoyed watching football, playing cards and being the banker at Monopoly. Debbie was authentic, loyal, sincere, supportive and full of love for all around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Faye Morris; husband, Michael Burke and mother-in-law, LaVerna Quinton.
Debbie is survived by her son Kegan (wife Alanna) Burke of St. James, MO; brothers, Bobby Morris and Scott Morris both of St. James, MO; brother-in-law, Mitchell Burke of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law, Michelle Hembree (Edmond Tapero) of Yavne, Israel; father-in-law, Jim Quinton of Cuba, MO; grandchildren Kynnadie Burke and Liam Burke both of St. James, MO, Braydn, Baylee, Blake, Gunnar, Wesley, Millie, Emmett, Ryker and Ethan; nieces, Brittany Palmer, Lacie Kamper and Hunter Morris; nephew, Colton Morris; great nieces and great nephews, Bryer, Bristol, Boone, and Baby Kamper on the way; many other children adopted out of love; cousins and many friends.
Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2024, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO, with Bro. Roy Adams, Jr. officiating. Burial was at Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, MO. Memorials were suggested to the Relay For Life in Cuba, MO in Debbie's memory.
