Debbie Faye (McPherson) Lewis

Debra “Debbie” Fay Lewis of Cuba, MO, previously of Steelville, MO was born on Friday, December 27, 1957 in Washington, MO to Lee McPherson, Jr and Mary Ann (Menz) McPherson.  She passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, MO at the age of 62 years and 8 months.

Debbie graduated from Cuba High School with the Class of 1976.  She married Theodore “Frank” Franklin Lewis, Sr. on December 21, 1979 and to this union a daughter, Rachael, was born.  Debbie was a natural caregiver, she went to nursing school and obtained her LPN degree. For 30 years she worked at Gibbs Care Center and then went to work at Cuba Manor until her health began to fail.  Debbie had accepted the Lord.  She enjoyed to read, do crossword puzzles and to cross-stitch.  Most of all, Debbie loved her family, especially her grandchildren.   

She was preceded in death by her father, Lee McPherson, Jr. and husband Frank Lewis.

She is survived by her mother Mary Ann McPherson of Cuba, MO; daughter Rachael Gilliam of Cuba, MO; brothers Sherman McPherson of St. Louis, MO, Tom (Connie) McPherson and Leroy McPherson all of Cuba, MO, and John (Michelle) McPherson of Rosebud, MO; sisters Sharon Harvey of Wildwood, MO, Bonnie (John) Hoy and Nancy Brooks all of Cuba, MO, and Julie (Rick Hendrix) McPherson of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren Tristan Lee Morton of Rolla, MO, Cadence Raye Gilliam, Charles “Leighton” Gilliam, Carly Fay Gilliam, and Cash Franklin Gilliam all of Cuba, MO;  nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO.  Memorial Service immediately followed after at 7:00 PM. Bro. Len Young officiated.  The family chose cremation as her final disposition.  Memorials were suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
