Debra A. "Deb" Wilkinson of Steelville, MO was born on Saturday, May 19, 1956, in Steelville, MO to Johnnie Lavern Wilkinson and Rilma Wilkinson, nee Cottrell. She passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at her home at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 13 days.
Debra lived in Steelville, MO her whole life and attended Steelville schools. She raised 2 children, Timmy and Crysi, on her own until she met the love of her life, Fred F. Meatte. Together they made their home in Steelville, MO for 45 years while she worked at Brown Shoe Company for many years and then as a cook for local restaurants, Al’s Café, Don’s Diner, The Feed Store, Sweet Treats Bakery all in Steelville and A & J Restaurant in Cuba, MO. Her specialty, according to her family, were her biscuits and gravy. Deb loved the outdoors and camping, especially at Big Eddies (Blue Hole). She also adored flower gardening and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Rilma Wilkinson; sister Jean (husband Tom) Sanders; brothers-in-law Roy Keyes and Dale Stulce; and sister-in-law Debbie Blair.
Deb is survived by her children Crysi Norris and Timmy (wife Amy) Wilkinson, all of Steelville, MO; loving companion of 45 years, Fred Meatte of Steelville, MO; brother Ercil (wife Kathy) Wilkinson of KY; sisters Vickie Keyes of Steelville, MO, Rena Stulce of Cuba, MO, and Etta (husband Benny) White of St. James, MO, sisters-in-law Carol Henderson of St. James, MO and Linda (husband Mark) Hogan of TX; brother-in-law Roger Littin of GA; 6 grandchildren Jake Ballenger of Warrensburg, MO, Madison Wilkinson of Columbia, MO, Jonathan Wilkinson, Lyssa Norris, Gunner Wilkinson and Fawn Wilkinson all of Steelville, MO; 1 great grandchild Westin Norris of Steelville, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition. A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
