Dennis Lloyd Lea

Dennis Lloyd Lea, of Steelville, MO was born on Sunday, September 9, 1956, in Steelville, MO to Lloyd Earnest Lea and Helen Ethel Lea (nee Gray). He passed away at his residence on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the age of 66 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

Dennis was a member of the Class of 1975 at Steelville High School, Steelville, MO and then attended welding school in Fulton, MO.  He was employed as a welder and worked all over the United States.  Dennis married the love of his life Linda Pearl Ogle on April 15, 1978, in Steelville, MO and two children were born to this union.  Dennis enjoyed pitching horseshoes, shooting hoops, playing chess, playing tennis, and teasing and giving people a hard time. He adored his grandkids and his dog, Shaggy, a Coton de Tulear, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Helen Lea; parents-in-law Robert and Ruth Ogle; sisters Dorris Ann (Kenny) Green, Judy Lea, and Barbara Sue Parker; sister-in-law Donna (Eddie) Conaway; brothers-in-law Ricky Ogle, and Jim Jones; infant son, Dennis Lloyd Lea, Jr; and grandchild Connor Gullet.

Dennis is survived by his wife Linda Pearl Lea of Steelville, MO; daughter Rachel and husband Zac Stubbert of Steelville, MO; brother Eugene and wife Paula Lea of Steelville, MO; sister Brenda and husband Tom Murray of Steelville, MO; sisters-in-law Leona Jones of Steelville, MO, Rhonda and husband Greg Hill of Enid, OK, and Marie and husband Rick Roper of OK; brothers-in-law Randy and wife Kelly Ogle and Landis “Jr.” Parker both of Steelville, MO, Dennis and wife Debbie Ogle of Grafton, IL, and Robert Ogle of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Caleb Gullet, Brooklyn Stubbert, Zackary Stubbert, and Lilli Stubbert all of Steelville, MO;  many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM—12:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. The service was livestreamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook page.  Burial was at Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.  Memorials were suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
