Donald P. Doss

Donald Paul Doss of Cuba, MO was born on Wednesday, March 17, 1948, in Waynesville, MO to Harold Clinton Doss and Lenna Opal Doss, nee Sanders.  He passed away at his home on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 4 days.

Donald grew up in Steelville, MO and graduated from Steelville High School in the class of 1966.  He accepted the Lord early in life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Steelville, MO.  He attended Rolla School of Mines, Mineral Area School and Rolla Vo-Tech for Electronics.  He was a carpenter for 30 years at Color Art and retired in 2006 from the Carpenter’s union.  Donald married Judith Ann Pinnell Doss on March 8, 1984.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and helping people.  He was always willing to lend a hand on his son’s farm and was a master boot polisher; always polishing his son’s boots before the horse shows.  He adored his dog Tootsie and was an animal lover.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lenna Doss; parents-in-law John and Mildred Pinnell; daughter Juella Tivoli; brothers-in-law Ronald “Bud” Pinnell and John “Ed” Mitchell; and sister-in-law Ellen (David) Brown.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Judith A. Doss of Cuba, MO; son Mike (Melinda) Tivoli of St. James, MO; grandchildren Jack, Nick, Charlie, and Sydney; sister-in-law Joan Mitchell of Cuba, MO; brother-in-law Donald (Charlotte) Pinnell of Cuba, MO; many cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, MO.  Memorials were suggested to the Steve and Ed Mitchell Scholarship Fund, c/o the Crawford County Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 8960, Springfield, MO  65801.
