Donald Paul Langley, Sr. of Steelville, MO was born on Wednesday, March 4, 1936 in Blytheville, AR to Leon Harvey Langley and Mildred Evelyn Stone Langley Shrum. He passed away at Stone Bridge Nursing Home in Desoto, MO on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 5 days.
Donald attended Hadley Technical High School in St. Louis, MO. In 1957 he married Loy Nadine Poole in St. Louis, MO and to this union 6 children were born. He later married Tanit "Terry" Langley and loved her children as his own. Donald worked as a carpenter for Alberici Constructors Inc. in St. Louis, MO and was a member of the Local Union #92 of St. Louis. Donald was a great salesman and could sell anything. He enjoyed spending time on his family's farm in Steelville, MO which he eventually called home. Donald was a member of the Missouri Game Breeder's Association. He showed quarter horses all over the country. He was the World Flag Racing Champion in 1971 and 1972, special thanks to his horses Little Bud and Bruce. Donald especially loved going to chicken fights.
He was preceded in death by his father Leon Langley; mother and step-father who raised him Mildred and Elmer Shrum; son Dale Langley and grandson Zachary Langley.
He is survived by his children Cheryl (Ernest) Mixco of St. Charles, MO, Elmer Langley of Barnhart, MO, Ricky (Pam) Langley of Festus, MO, William Langley of Steelville, MO and Donny (Jodi) Langley of Lake Ozark, MO; step-children Bub, Jackie and Ryan all of St. Louis, MO; siblings Mitchell Shrum of Hillsboro, MO and Micky (Bob) Stockdale of Springfield, MO; special friends Marcella Neighaus of Marthasville, MO and Jay U. Pigg of Maryland Heights, MO; grandchildren Samantha Langley of Barnhart, MO, Danielle (Lance) Lear of Topeka, KS, Tiffany Fricka of Bloomsdale, MO, Lauren (Kegan) Salmon of Ft. Myers, FL, Courtney Morgan of St. Louis, MO, Steven (Whitney) Michaels of St. Louis, MO and Jamie (Breanne) Oakley of Denver, CO; great grandchildren Logan and Miles Fricka, Cameron and Jackie Langley, August Salmon, Noah and Cameron Morgan, William Michaels, Annisyn and Asa Oakley; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 6:00 PM. The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
