Obituary

Dorothy Marie Mills, nee Whitley, of Cuba, MO was born on Wednesday, December 14, 1938, in Portageville, MO to Reuben Whitley and Florence Tate Whitley.  She passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at her residence in Cuba, MO at the age of 83 years, 3 month, and 4 days.

Dorothy attended and graduated from Portageville High School.  She attended key punch school and worked as a key punch operator for many years with McDonnell Douglas. She then worked for Glaser Drug and was a Head Supervisor for many years.  Dorothy married the love of her life, Raymond O. Mills, in St. Louis, MO on February 15, 1969 and together they raised four children.   She accepted the Lord at an early age and attended First Baptist Church in Cuba, MO.  Dorothy enjoyed wood crafting projects with her husband, camping, and making floral arrangements.  She took four weeks out of every year to travel the world and she loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Reuben and Florence Whitley; husband Raymond O. Mills; daughter Kathy Suttles; Infant son Gary Suttles; sister Hazel (George) Hopkin; and daughter-in-law Pat Mills.

Dorothy is survived by her children Mark Willmore of Cuba, MO, Mike (Sandra) Suttles of Festus, MO; step children Keith Mills of St. Charles, MO and Kenneth (Debbie) of South Carolina; brother Delbert (Thelma) Knight of Goose Creek, MO; grandchildren Christopher Willmore of Desloge, MO, Michael (Elizabeth) Suttles, II of Festus, MO, Samantha (Steve) Walters of DeSoto, MO, and Rebecca Willmore of Farmington, MO; step grandchildren Raymond Mills of Denver Colorado, Stephanie (Marshall) Clemons of St. Charles, MO, and Darren Mills of Jefferson City, MO; great grandchildren MaKayla Suttles and Lindsey Suttles of Festus, MO, Liam James Dedear and Maya Mae Dedear of Farmington, MO and Levi Ray Walters of DeSoto, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.  Burial was on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 10:45 AM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. 

All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba MO.
