Dorothy “Dottie” Thomas, nee Kehr of Cuba, MO was born on Thursday, May 17, 1962, in Belleville, IL to Donald E. Kehr and Elise Mae Jacks, nee Asher. She passed away at her home on Friday, January 6, 2023, at the age of 60 years, 7 months, and 20 days.
Dottie spent her early years in St. Louis, MO. She moved to Steelville, MO and lived there for 20 years before relocating to Cuba, MO. Dottie had accepted the Lord as her personal Savior. She was disabled and worked for the Rolla Sheltered Workshop. She enjoyed playing video games on her tablet, playing poker with her family, and watching TV, especially soap operas and The Three Stooges. Dottie was especially fond of her cat, Michelle and loved spending time with her family and friends,
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Donald Kehr and Elise Jacks and brother Wayne Brooks.
Dottie is survived by her daughter, Linda Kehr of Rolla, MO; brother George Brooks, Sr. of Granite City, IL; sister Cindy Sue Kehr of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Hannah Major, Jordan (wife Kenisha) Major, and Valerie Major all of Salem, MO; nieces Trisha (husband David) Damo and Michelle (husband Chris) Wilson both of Steelville, MO, Lillian Flieger and Holly (husband Derek) O’Brian both of Granite City, IL; nephews Tony Murphy of Steelville, MO, Jason Conwaski of Cuba, MO, George Brooks, Jr. of Granite City, IL and Edward Brooks of Madison, IL; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday January 11, 2023, at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 5:00 PM with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home Steelville Facebook page. The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
