Obituary

Earline Minnie Dobbs, nee Haselden, of Leasburg, MO was born on Sunday, March 23, 1930 in Berkely County, SC to James “Clevie” Cleveland Haselden and Florence “Lessie” Celeste Haselden (nee Lewis).  She passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at StoneBridge Senior Living in Owensville, MO  at the age of 93 years and 7 days.

Earline grew up in Charleston, South Carolina.  Earline loved music, as a young girl she and her sisters sang on the radio and at church.  She would be so excited that she would wake up at 4:00 AM every Sunday.  Earline married Roy F. Dobbs on April 23, 1955 and together they raised 4 children.  Earline had her own health food store and later retired from the café at Sam’s Club.  She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a beloved member of Living Word Church in Leasburg, MO where she was affectionately known as “Grandma Dobbs.”  She especially looked forward to Mother’s Day at church when she would receive a flower for being the oldest.  Earline enjoyed spending time in her garden, cooking and taking care of her grandkids.  She was an avid baker; she always had cookies and breads baking to then take to the Flea Market to sell.  She taught all of her grandkids and great grandkids measurements at an early age while they helped her in the kitchen.  Most of all, Earline loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clevie and Lessie Haselden; parents-in-law John & Bessie Dobbs; husband Roy F. Dobbs; two sons Robert L. Moore and Melvin W. Moore; grandson Andrew Strubank.

Earline is survived by her daughters Deborah (James) Delacourt of Leasburg, MO and Karen (John) Strubank of Livonia, MI; brother William (Sybill) Haselden of Summerville, SC; sister-in-law Joyce Haselden of Hampton, VA; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO.  Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dan Morrison and Pastor Jimmy Delacourt.  Burial is at Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, MO.
