Edwin “Ed” L. Worley of Cuba, MO was born on Saturday, June 8, 1940, in Steelville, MO to LeRoy Worley and Rosalie Ransom Worley.  He passed away at his home in Cuba, MO on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 4 days.

Ed grew up in the Steelville area. He married Shirley Bogue and to this union 2 children were born.  He worked at Brown Shoe Company for a few years, and then went to Sho-ME Power for a while.  He became an over the road truck driver for several years before buying a dozer and other heavy equipment and started Ed Worley Trucking and Excavating.  He was very successful in his business, building several ponds and lakes, building roads for private property owners, as well as maintaining existing roads, clearing land of trees and brush, and hauled innumerable loads of fill dirt, gravel, chat, and topsoil.

He married Evelyn “Kay” Sell on July 3, 1992, at Center Point Baptist Church in Steelville, MO. During the time of his campaigning, he visited over 4000 homes.

Ed spent many years stock car racing.  He owned his own stock car and then later was one of the main men on Billy Gilliam’s Racing Team. After he quit racing, he still attended the races regularly.  He loved hunting, fishing, and gigging.  He owned one of the first jet boats in Crawford County. He and Kay especially enjoyed traveling out west and to the New England area together. He loved playing jokes on his friends.  There are still many “Ed” stories floating around today.  He will be missed so much by his family and many friends.
