Elise Mae (Asher) Jacks

Elise Mae Jacks nee Asher of Steelville, MO was born on Friday, February 25, 1938 in St. Louis, MO to Jesse Asher and Josephine (English) Asher. She passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Cuba Manor in Cuba, MO at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 30 days.

Elise was raised in St. Louis, MO and attended school there. She accepted the Lord early in life and had previously attended Gateway Baptist Church. She and her family moved to Steelville in 1999. Elise was a homemaker. She enjoyed housekeeping and watching television. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren. Elise was so special to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Josephine Asher; brother George Asher and son Donald "Wayne" Brooks.

Elise is survived by her children Dorothy "Dottie" Thomas of Cuba, MO, George (Christine) Brooks and Cindy Kehr all of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Trisha (David) Damo, Tony Murphy, Michelle (companion Chris) Kehr and Barbra (companion Toby) Arnold all of Steelville, MO, Jason Conwaski of Cuba, MO, Linda Fannon of Rolla, MO, Christopher Kehr of Jefferson City, MO, George Brooks, Jr., Holly (Darick) O'Brian, Lillian Flieger, Edward "EJ" Brooks, Sirria Brooks and Tonie Brooks all of Illinois; 26 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service  immediately followed after.  Rev. Jerry Beers officiated. The family chose cremation as her final disposition. Memorials may be given to the family to help with final expenses.
