Ella Mary Midyett, nee Weber, of Steelville, MO was born on Wednesday, May 16, 1934 in Steelville, MO to Thomas Calvin Weber and Elsie Louise Weber, nee Zolder. She passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 20 days.
Ella Mary attended Steelville High School and in her younger years enjoyed horseback riding. She married Paul William Reeves and to this union two sons were born. During that time she worked at Steelville Supply Store and Meramec Springs. She later married William "Bill" Joe Midyett on July 10, 1967 in Steelville, MO, was a housewife and babysat many children. Ella Mary had accepted the Lord, attended Center Point Baptist Church and later became a member of Victory Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, accordion and guitar. She liked to sing and was in a quartet "the Gold Inspirations." Ella Mary was a great cook and has many spiral notebooks of handwritten recipes. She loved gardening and raising flowers. Most of all, Ella Mary loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Elsie Weber; parents-in-law Earnest & Erma Midyett; husband William "Bill" Midyett; son Bobby Reeves; siblings Lottie (Jessie) Gregory, Fred (Janet) Weber, Ralph Weber, Robert Weber and Violet (Virgil) Zinzer; brother-in-law Earl (Rosalie) Midyett; sisters-in-law Lorraine Street and Louise (Gilbert) Turnbough.
Ella Mary is survived by her son John (Ivy) Reeves of Steelville, MO; daughter-in-law Debra Christopher of Cuba, MO; brother-in-law Bob Midyett of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Holly (Jeff) Shoults of Potosi, MO, Jessica (Jason) Higgins of Steelville, MO, Samantha (Clint) Swiecicki of Columbia, MO, Jennifer (Brian) Reidler and Bobbi Jean (Clancy) Halbert both of Steelville, MO, Michael Stroupe and Richard Stroupe both of Cuba, MO; great grandchildren Jake Shoults, Ben Shoults, Audrey King, Ethan Higgins, Alexis Higgins and Wesley Higgins, Nolen Reidler, Elle Reidler and Mylo Reidler, Callie Swiecicki, Brooke Swiecicki and Aubrey Swiecicki; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service was at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO with Pastor Roger Silvey officiating. Funeral Service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook Page. Burial was at Liberty Cemetery. Memorials were suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
