Elsie "Gladyne" (Pinnell) Licklider Riddle

Elsie “Gladyne” Licklider Riddle, nee Pinnell, of Cuba, MO, was born on Friday, December 10, 1926, in rural Oak Hill, MO, to Walter James Pinnell and Sarah Elizabeth Pinnell, nee Enloe.  She passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the age of 98 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Gladyne was a lifelong resident of Cuba, MO.  Gladyne was the youngest of 7 children and helped take care of the family after her mother’s passing when she was a young girl.  She married James “Les” Licklider, on December 8, 1945, in Steelville, MO, and to this union 2 children, Carol and Earl, were born.  Les passed away on August 8, 1983.  She was baptized at the Trinity Chapel church by Rev. George Bruner as a young adult on July 19,1953.  On March 25, 1988, Gladyne married Leo Riddle until Leo’s untimely passing on February 25, 1991.  She was a member of Trinity Chapel in Cuba, MO and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 7147.  She worked for MO Home Care but mostly was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family.  Gladyne liked sewing and working on crafts, but most of all she loved her family, her many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Sarah Pinnell; first husband, James “Les” Licklider; parents-in-law, James and Clara Licklider; two children, Carol Morre and Earl Licklider; second husband, Leo Riddle; siblings, Earl Pinnell, George Pinnell, Ida Mae Licklider, James Pinnell, John Pinnell and Frank Pinnell; dear friends, Milton Liesemeyer and Jack Lewis; great grandchildren, Robert David Morre and Austin Morre.

Gladyne is survived by her grandchildren, Sheri (Tim) Brand of Bridgeton, MO, Ann Alves of Blackstone, MA, Matthew Licklider of Sandwich, MA, Jared (Jenna) Licklider of Attleboro, MA, Jason (Diana) Licklider of Westboro, MA, David (Karla) Morre of MO and Sherry (Tim) Whitten of Highland, IL; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial was at Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, MO.  Memorials were suggested to the American Cancer Society.
