Francoise Maria (Marot) Goudeau

Francoise Maria Therese Goudeau, nee Marot, of Steelville, MO, was born on Wednesday, December 13, 1939 in La Rochelle, France, to Gaston Alexandre Marot and Maria Anne Marot, nee Bompoint.  She passed away at her home in Steelville, MO, on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 19 days.

Francoise was born and raised in France.  She met the love of her life, Norman Anthony Goudeau while he was deployed while in the military; they were united in marriage and two children were born to this union.  They returned to the United States when the children were still in school, living in St. Louis, MO and then to Steelville, MO.  She was of the catholic faith.  Francoise worked as a beautician at Macy's in St. Louis, MO and later helped Robert Bass with his resorts.  She liked to cook, enjoyed tending to her flowers and loved animals.  Most of all, Francoise loved her friends and family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Gaston and Maria Marot; husband Norman Goudeau; parents-in-law Curtis and Mary Goudeau; brother Jean (wife Mireille) Marot; sister Mithi (husband Roland) Bichon; brother-in-law Elmer Foerstel.

Francoise is survived by her children Kirk Goudeau of Steelville, MO and Deborah (Michael) Goudeau-Willson of St. Mary’s, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Phyllis Foerstel of St. Louis, MO, Dale (Kathy) Reifschneider of Pevely, MO, Mary (Jim) Colter of Tallahassee, FL and Kim Witten of TX; four grandchildren, Trenton, Katelyn, Michael and Francisa; other relatives and friends.

The family chose cremation as Francoise's final disposition.  No services will be held.
