Frank "Paul" Shasserre, of Cuba, MO, was born on Saturday, December 14, 1946 to Frank Paul Shasserre, Jr. and Mary Georgetta "Chick" Shasserre, nee Kamler. He passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Paul was a third-generation career farmer, working alongside his father and grandfather after graduating from Cuba High School in 1965. Paul had a passion for the outdoors and for the farm on which he was raised and lived his entire life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending his free time on the Meramec, Osage, and Gasconade Rivers and made at least one trip annually to fish in Oklahoma. Paul was an excellent cook, known among family and friends for his fish fries and traditional holiday meals and gatherings. Paul was a member and supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Missouri, where he volunteered for more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Georgetta Shasserre; parents-in-law Don and Darlene Dace; brother Tom Shasserre and brother-in-law Russ Bell.
Paul is survived by his wife Debbie Shasserre of Cuba, MO; children Jane Shasserre of Webster Groves, MO, Hank Shasserre and Jake Shasserre both of Cuba, MO; grandchildren Fritz Mills of Webster Groves, MO and Hannah Shasserre of Cuba, MO; sisters Sharon Bell of Durham, NC and Michelle (Matt) Hughes of St. Clair, MO; sister-in-law Marsha Shasserre of Linn, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Following Paul's wishes, the family chose cremation as his final disposition. There will not be any services held.
